Yorston Life

It isn’t all work, however, at Yorston Lodge. Pupils are encouraged to play equally as hard whilst retaining a fair and considerate attitude; having fun so that they are more likely to continue with their sport in the future.

Our Netball Team were very successful  in the Inter-schools Competitions and indeed, the girls won the first Netball League. We were also the proud winners of the Inter-schools Cross Country, Sports Hall Athletics, Quad Kids and Swimming Competitions as well as runners-up in the Basketball.  We feel that our academic and sporting achievements reflect the fact that we really do work hard and play hard.

Always a favourite amongst pupils, staff and parents is the annual ski trip. Every year, a party of up to 70 (including Kindergarten children) enjoy the snow and slopes in France. Other residential and day visits take place throughout the year.

Yorston Lodge is open 51 weeks of the year. The Yorston Lodge Out of School Club runs before and after school hours as well as during holiday periods. It enables pupils to be dropped-off and collected in line with the modern-day work commitments of parents. The school is, therefore, open daily from 8am to 6pm.

“The children want to come to school and want to learn. We have an active Parents’ Association and we are all working towards the same end; that every child should be the best they can be with care, support and guidance as the cornerstone.”
